The legacy of Oliva Cigars dates back to the late 1800s, when Melanio Oliva first began growing tobacco in Cuba. The Oliva family continued the tradition in the fields, but it was Gilberto Oliva Sr., Melanio's grandson, who pioneered the creation of Oliva Cigars. With the help of Nicaraguan tobacco, Oliva was able to thrive, leading to the introduction of their flagship cigar, Oliva Serie V, in 2006.

Crafted by a small group of expert rollers, Serie V is a blend created for both strength and style. It quickly became a hit among connoisseurs, praised for its complexity and full-bodied profile. The Serie V Melanio, introduced in 2012 to honour the family's first tobacco grower, features a Sumatra-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador. This variant stands apart with its rich flavours, earning Cigar of the Year 2014 accolades from Cigar Aficionado. With notes of leather, coffee, caramel, and wood, it remains a truly classic cigar.

The Oliva Serie V is a complex and expertly blended cigar, showcasing Nicaraguan long filler tobaccos with specially fermented Jalapa Valley ligero.
